When Orlando residents put material in their recycling bins that can't be recycled, it can contaminate the entire truckload. If there's a specific percentage of contamination, the load meant for recycling will then be sent to the landfill instead.
My office was tasked with coming up with an idea to educate residents on what not to put in the recycling bin. We asked for the list of item most commonly put in the recycling bin. Those items were:
